From a single hive in the hills of Uttarakhand to the tables of 50,000 families across India โ the journey of Rosa Honey is one of devotion, purity, and an unshakeable reverence for the bee.
Five years. Five harvests. Countless lives touched by the golden thread of pure honey.
Founded in a small Dehradun kitchen by Arjun Mehta and his grandmother, who shared a lifelong bond with the bees of Uttarakhand. With two hives and a dream, Rosa Honey was born from the conviction that India deserves the world's finest honey.
The first cold-extracted harvest from cliffside Himalayan hives at 2,400 metres above sea level. Sold entirely through word of mouth within three days. Customers called it "the most extraordinary honey they had ever tasted."
Achieved full FSSAI certification and established our independent lab-testing protocol. Every batch now comes with a published purity report. We also partnered with the first of our beekeeping families in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
A watershed moment โ 50,000 Indian households now begin their mornings with Rosa Honey. Launched our Community Beekeeper Fund, channelling 20% of annual profits to beekeeper welfare and the planting of native flowering trees.
Our collection now spans 15 single-origin varietals sourced from 28 states across India โ from Sundarbans mangrove to Nilgiri forest to Kashmir saffron blossom. Each jar, a masterpiece of terroir. Each drop, a prayer.
Behind every jar of Rosa Honey is a family whose relationship with bees spans generations. These are the people whose wisdom, patience, and devotion make everything possible.
From the lush backwaters of Alappuzha, Rajan tends to over 200 hives nestled among coconut palms. His family's oral tradition of natural beekeeping โ passed down from his great-great-great-grandfather โ remains unbroken. He harvests only at the precise turn of the season, when the coconut blossoms are at their peak.
Dharam Singh's family has scaled the cliffs of Uttarakhand for twelve generations to harvest wild honey from Apis laboriosa hives โ the largest honeybee on Earth. At altitudes above 3,000 metres, his knowledge of cliff-hive behaviour and seasonal rhythms is unparalleled. He is considered a living encyclopedia of Himalayan beekeeping.
The matriarch of her beekeeping community in Ooty, Meenakshi Devi trained under her mother who was revered as the "Queen of the Blue Mountains." She tends to Apis cerana hives in the Nilgiri biosphere reserve, producing a forest honey of rare earthy complexity, rich in the biodiversity of one of India's last great forests.
Five sacred steps. No shortcuts. No compromise. This is how Rosa Honey earns its name.
Only the healthiest, naturally-located hives in pristine ecosystems are selected โ never artificially placed.
Honey is harvested only once per season, leaving ample reserves for the colony. We work with nature, not against it.
Never heated above 40ยฐC. Cold extraction preserves every enzyme, antioxidant, flavour molecule, and pollen grain.
Every batch undergoes independent testing for antibiotics, pesticides, heavy metals, and adulteration. Reports published openly.
Hand-filled in glass jars, sealed with tamper-proof caps, and dispatched directly to your door โ untouched by heat or time.
Every jar contains only honey โ nothing added, nothing removed. No sugar syrups, no artificial flavours, no heat-treatment that would destroy the living complexity of raw honey. What the bee creates, we deliver unchanged.
We publish every lab report, every sourcing detail, and every beekeeper partner on our website. You can trace your jar of honey back to its hive, its season, and its keeper. In an industry rife with adulteration, we choose radical openness.
We harvest only what the colony can abundantly spare. 20% of profits fund beekeeper welfare and the reforestation of native flowering trees across India. Every purchase you make plants a seed in the future of India's ecological heritage.
Because Rosa Honey never drains hives, allocations are strictly limited to 3 jars per household. Once the surplus is reached, the cellar is sealed until the next natural bloom.
